Four Seasons Hotel 5* Moscow

Hospitality

The Four Seasons Hotel in Moscow is a luxury hotel located in the heart of the city, within a historic building. The challenge consisted in the transformation of this ancient palace into a luxury hotel of 180 rooms, with all modern conveniences and technologies.

The Objectives

The aim of the project was to create a luxury hotel that would offer guests a unique and unforgettable experience. This meant a high quality design, with the use of luxury materials and cutting-edge technologies respecting the budget of a hospitality project

The Challenges

One of the biggest challenges of the project was the management of room sizes and shapes. Each room had different sizes and this made the commitment of our technical office very high to design 180 rooms. In addition, the construction inside a historic building required special attention to detail, to ensure that the new design was in harmony with the history and architecture of the building.

The Working Team

  • FMG Shapes, Italian company specialized in marble tailoring projects
  • Technical office of FMG Shapes in collaboration with an Italian contract company
  • Russian team of installers
  • Muscovite manufacturer Lusine
  • London interior design and architecture studio Richmond International
  • Our company has also worked closely with suppliers of luxury materials, such as the Crema Luna marbles from France and Breccia Capraia from the Apuan Alps, to ensure that every detail was perfect.

Design and research

Design and research have been a fundamental part of the project. Our team of architects and designers worked closely with the client to create a design that was in line with their needs and that was in harmony with the architecture of the building. In particular, the walls in Breccia Capraia cut and installed bookmatch were selected in person by the team of Richmond International.

The solutions

To overcome the challenges of the project, our team has used cutting edge technologies and innovative solutions in the field of technical drawing and simulation of cutting scenarios. This has allowed a perfect harmony between the new design and the ancient architecture of the building.

Error prevention

Error prevention was a fundamental part of the project. Each chamber was transposed digitally to handle the dramatic veins of Breccia Capraia marble, after which, each element was tested in dry pose (dry lay) and mounted dry (dry cast) in our laboratory to ensure that the material provided reflected customer expectations.
